We develop machine-learning based visual recognition algorithms for applications such as autonomous cars. Sustainability and safety are our priority.

He received his Ph.D. from the University of Maryland in 2005. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory until 2007. He has been engaged in research on image recognition and machine learning at Denso IT Laboratory since 2008, and joined the university in 2020 (concurrently with Denso IT Laboratory).

Rei KAWAKAMI
Specially Appointed Associate Professor

She received her Ph.D. degree in information science and technology from the University of Tokyo in 2008. She has worked as post-docs at the University of Tokyo, U.C. Berkeley and Osaka University. She joined Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2020 and is cross appointed as a senior researcher at Denso IT Laboratory.
